Parvaton pe barfaan

Parvaton pe Barfaan –The Blue Umbrella (I just love this song)

(Jab jab yahan barf girti hai aisa lagta hai , jaise aasmaan se koi taara apne in chamakte hue tukdon ke zariye zameen tak koi paigaam pahunchaana chaahta hai , aur ye tukde haule se zameen par girkar, kitni khamoshi se zameen ki aankhein nam kar dete hain, jaise zameen ko taare ki doori ka ehsaas dila rahe hon …..aur tab aisa lagta hai jaise hawa ye gaana gun guna rahi hai , taaron tak zameen ka paigaam pahuncha rahi hai………and thats how I feel about the song and the snowfall, both so pure and  so beautiful)

Naa mein soni naa gharwaal (I cannot quite follow the next line , any help with lyrics of this line and translation of the entire song would be amazing …I think its a song from North India ,most probably  Himachal Pradesh aur Kashmir)

Parbaton pe barfaan , barfaan , parbaton pe thandi barfaan , barsan laagi re…………O re beliya lautiyoo ghara re, O re beliya lautiyoo ghara re

Din chote chote ho gaye , Bachpan ki Choli jaise , udhada hi udhada jaaye re, Raatein bhi lambhi laage, teri judaaiyon mein jaan ka tukdaa jaaye re , O re beliya……

Chanda ka jantar deke , raaton se maanga tujhko , ab mere angna mein rahiyo, peetar ki sookhi sookhi, daari jalaike rakho, Kose lihaafon mein rahiyo….O re beliya…..

Parbaton pe barfaan ………………

  1. the song ‘barfaan’ from blue umbrella is a himachali folk, to the best of my knowledge… of course, the song is amazing… it takes you to a snow clad hut where you sit and do nothing.. only wonder about the nature…🙂

    • about idling time away sitting in that snow clad hut beside a fire place….only the thought of it sounds so soothing, peaceful and nice, I wonder what it would be like to actually spend a day like that🙂
